Llama Rescue Organizations
A safety net for llamas. A network of individuals, businesses, and organizations that will take action to intervene on behalf of llamas in precarious life situations through consultation, networking, education, and/or placement of lamas in new homes within the lama community.
The primary mission of Northeast Llama Rescue is to educate owners on how to properly care for their animals. They also provide a traveling chute to assist with shearing, worming, and toenail trimming on hard-to-handle animals.
SELR is a 501C3 non-profit organization incorporated in North Carolina. Our mission is to protect the quality of life and improve the well being of abused, neglected, unwanted and behaviorally unmanageable llamas through prevention, education, intervention, placement and lifelong care.
Tristate was organized to educate others on the care of llamas and to provide foster homes when a llama needs to be taken quickly out of a harmful situation. All llama owners are invited to join the group to help share resources and knowledge with new or prospective owners, and to help promoting llamas and good llama care.
Located in Northwestern Washington, StillPointe is committed to the rescue of llamas and the education of children and adults in the care and respect for llamas and other animals, utilizing the llamas as well as the arts, nature and spiritual retreats as therapeutic tools. We do not solicit llamas in need, but try to take in, or find a foster home for, any that we are asked to help. We are a Federal non-profit organization, so depend upon donations to do our work.
Wild Earth receives calls and emails on a regular basis from throughout the Southwest asking for llamas to be picked up for different reasons. At any given moment in time, there are usually several animals waiting for a new home. Wild Earth (Stuart & Leah) drives sometimes more than a day each way to bring them back to their ranch in Taos, New Mexico. Wild Earth does not breed or sell llamas, but does give them a forever home.
